Overview of Teaching and Learning

Academic Philosophy, what drive our passion- Focus on Literacy and Numeracy

DDA’s academic policy requires that a student must average 70% or above for the school year in order to be moved to the next grade level.

For both lower and upper primary students this average is taken in all examinable subjects.  All absences on test days require a doctor’s note in order for the student to sit the test another day.

Textbooks are to be covered by the student clear plastic each term. Text book levy is compulsory for standard 5-7. In our primary school we use the Curriculum laid down by the Ministry of Education and Skills, development, department of curriculum development and evaluation but also incorporates other subjects that meet international standards.

Pre-Primary

Unrivalled experiential learning based on play-based learning with a strong focus on early ready and key milestones in child development.

No child will be skipped from one class to another because of his/her intelligence; all children must undergo all classes. For safety and security reasons, all visitors arriving on school campus should go directly to the administration building for a visitor’s ID card.  Anyone on campus without DDA ID card or visitor’s badge will be stopped and questioned.  This is for the safety of our prized students and staff.  No one is allowed to go directly to a class at any time, even for drop off or pickup.
